Getting Started in Steal the Bobo

This Getting Started guide is for players who just clicked Play on Steal the Bobo and need a clean first hour. The game is a Roblox steal-and-tycoon hybrid by lol games: Bobos walk a public path, you buy them with cash, you place them on your plot to earn even while offline, and other players can rob you if your base is unlocked.

Minute 0–5: orient your plot

After loading, identify your personal base and empty slots. Note the shared path where Bobos walk. Cash on hand is limited, so do not panic-buy every common that passes. Open any tutorial prompts the experience shows, then walk the perimeter once so you know where rival plots sit.

Confirm you can find the lock control before you leave the base. Forgetting lock is the number-one beginner loss. Details live in How to Protect Your Base.

Minute 5–20: first path purchases

Watch spawn timing on the lane. When a Bobo you can afford appears, move early and buy before a rival claims it. Early commons fund your first upgrades; they are not trophies. Place each purchase in a free slot immediately so income starts.

If two players contest the same Bobo, the winner is usually the one who committed earlier and had cash ready. Keep a small reserve instead of sitting at zero — a sudden better spawn should not find you broke.

Minute 20–40: first upgrades

Open the upgrade panels. Steal the Bobo typically splits progress into character upgrades (better payout per Bobo) and plot upgrades (more slots). Alternate: one payout bump, then a slot, then repeat. A tall payout with no slots wastes rare finds; a wide plot full of commons earns slowly. Full logic is in Upgrades.

Minute 40–60: learn threat

Visit nearby unlocked bases carefully. Early raids teach escape routes and which Bobos are worth the risk. Do not empty your own plot to fund a reckless heist. Read How to Steal before you specialize in PvP.

Before you quit the session: collect cash, place any carried Bobo, and lock the base. Offline earnings only help if your roster survives.

What not to do on day one

• Do not ignore the Index forever — skim Complete the Index so you know which uniques matter.
• Do not trade away your only high earner for a flashy duplicate — see How to Trade.
• Do not trust random “codes” videos; check the Codes Hub for honest status.
• Do not leave the base unlocked while AFK in lobby chat.

Controls and platforms

PC and mobile share the same loop with different inputs. Bookmark Controls if prompts feel unclear. Roblox touch UIs sometimes hide lock buttons behind a menu — find yours before your first bathroom break.

Goals for session two

Enter with a locked, earning plot. Collect stacked offline cash, reinvest, and attempt one intentional path snipe on a higher tier Bobo. Cross-check targets against Best Bobos and Rarities.

Minute-by-minute first hour

Minutes 0–5: identify plot, path, lock, and upgrade menu. Minutes 5–15: buy and place two or three commons, keep a cash buffer. Minutes 15–25: contest one mid-tier path buy; win or lose, reset calmly. Minutes 25–35: walk unlocked bases for layout study without stealing yet. Minutes 35–45: optional first raid if a high-tier target sits unlocked. Minutes 45–55: spend into the next payout or slot breakpoint. Minutes 55–60: Index glance, place leftovers, lock, exit.

Mental model

Cash is fuel, Bobos are engines, upgrades are turbo, locks are armor. Engines without turbo stall. Turbo without engines stalls. Engines without armor get stolen. Hold all four ideas at once and day-one mistakes shrink. Re-read Codes Hub once so fake redeem lists do not steal hour two.
